Exe file get download while downloading MSN Messenger in Macbook pro
Hello, I am trying to download the MSN messenger on my Macbook pro for a long time but I am unable to do it. When I try to download the MSN Messenger on it, only the Exe file is been downloaded but the other files and folders are not present, so because of that I am unable to install the software on the Mac book. So I was just thinking is it some virus or there is some of the problem present in the operating system of mine which is not allowing it to get properly installed in it.

Did you tried downloading the setup file from any other site which you have not yet used, it is better that you go for downloading of the setup file from any other genuine site, this will help you in getting the knowledge that is the problem present in the system or in the file that you have been downloading, also I will tell you that if you are going for some latest version of the MSN messenger, then you don’t go for it , as it must be in the beta phase which you are not aware of it. Go for something which is a normal version where most of the people use.

As per the problem I am guessing that there is some of the type mismatch present in the operating system and in the file that you have downloaded, according to my knowledge the .EXE file which you are talking about is used for the windows operating system , which is very common mistake that most of the people do. But no problem just go for the downloading of the setup which is present for the MAC version, now once you have downloaded it then you can see that the .DMG file that is present in it. This will be used for the knowledge that it is for the MAC version only.

Hi, the operating system that I am using is the windows vista; also the latest version of the MSN messenger was not present in it. So I just thought of updating to the latest version, as I was trying to download the latest version, I was not able to do so, I tried uninstall and again installing the messenger, but it is not working, but now the problem is that I can’t use the previous version as it is asking to download the new version, fine with it but I am not able to do that also, as of now I am banned from using the MSN messenger I don’t know why. Please help on it.

I think that the problem is been caused by some by the setting regarding the security, I think that the certificate or something similar file of that is not been recognized by the system of yours. So just try to do some of the setting in the system that will help you in setting and also allowing the files to be downloaded. The thing is that the firewall plays an important role while downloading the files, so just switch off the firewall or do some of the settings in it which will help in downloading the files in the system of yours.
